About the SpeechWaysTM Speech Therapy Progam for Children
Meet the Creator: Leah Moryosef, M.A., CCC-SLP
Leah R. Moryosef, M.A., CCC-SLP, is a licensed and certified speech language pathologist with 16 years experience working in private clinics, hospitals, and public schools. Ms. Moryosef has worked extensively with both children and adults with a variety of communication disorders, including disorders of articulation, language, voice, and fluency.
Ms. Moryosef received her bachelor's degree from University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois and her master's degree in speech-language pathology from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She also completed a 12-week internship at the Voice Center at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, as well as a 12-week internship at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.
Ms. Moryosef has been working as a speech-language pathologist in the public schools in San Diego county for 7 years. She also maintains a small private practice in San Diego county.
The SpeechWays program was developed out of the need to offer affordable speech therapy options for children who would not normally have adequate and EARLY access to speech therapy services through the public schools. Children as young as 3/12 - 4 can learn to say their speech sounds correctly, by their parents, and avoid years of solidifying bad speech-sound habits. The longer you wait, THE HARDER IT WILL BE TO CORRECT!
Early intervention is very important in the remediation of speech and language delays, and yet there seem to be more obstacles than answers for parents with concerns for their children with speech problems. SpeechWays aim is to fill that need with a home based program that any parent can readily afford.
