On this card, you are given the exact wording for how to tell your child to make the /k/ and /g/ sounds. This will help your child make these sounds right away! It constitutes the actual THERAPY TECHNIQUE to be used, not just an explanation of how the sound is made.
The “Therapy Technique” is what a speech pathologist uses to actually elicit a sound. This professional technique will get your child saying the /k/ and /g/ sounds FAST, so that you can begin praising him/her immediately in most cases.
If the main /k/ and /g/ Card therapy technique doesn’t help your child immediately, don’t worry! On the back of the Card is a Troubleshooting section. This gives you other techniques you can try to get the /k/ and /g/ sounds correct.
After your child can say the /k/ and /g/ sounds by themselves, the Card then guides you as to how to get the /k/ and /g/ sounds correct in a syllable, word, phrase, sentence, and then in CONVERSATION!
The whole process can take only 5-10 minutes. You then are given instructions on how to continue helping your child by correcting his/her speech in CONVERSATION.
